ABSTRACT GUIDELINES

We invite proposals of oral presentations, posters and videos. They are encouraged to address the meeting theme if appropriate. Subjects of broad interest to tropical biology and conservation will also be considered for sessions.

 

The authors may indicate their preference regarding the presentation type: oral/poster/video. All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific

Committee and confirmed for either oral or poster presentation.

  1. Abstracts must be submitted electronically at www.atbc2017.org/abstract

  2. Abstracts must be submitted in English.

  3. Presentation:  i) Title: The abstract title should be in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals. ii)Authors: Authors’ names should be supplied in the name-first format and should be in initial capital/lower case, not all capitals.  iii) The body of the abstract must be no longer than 2 500 characters (space incl.) and divided in 4 sections background, method, result, discussion and/or conclusion. iv) Abstracts must not use printing enhancements such as fonts, italics, underlining, etc… except for italics for foreign words or scientific names where necessary. References should be included in the body of the abstract if necessary.

  4.  Abstracts should be entered as plain text into the corresponding electronic fields. They must not include tables or figures. All abbreviations should be extrapolated on their first use.

  5. Abstracts should be thoroughly checked for spelling and grammar before submission.

REVIEW CRITERIA

All abstracts will be peer reviewed and scored by reviewers selected by the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee may accept, decline, or offer an opportunity t present the proposed work in a more appropriate format. Authors will be notified of decisions by early April 2017.

Please note that a maximum of one first author submission will be allowed to foster the exchange among peers.
