CURSO PRE-CONGRESO

The Natural Capital Project Approach & Toolbox

Over the course of its 11-year existence, the Natural Capital Project has learned from its experiences in seeking to implement ecosystem services assessments and inform decisions around the globe with natural capital science. This course offers not a prescriptive methodology, but rather an adaptive, iterative approach based on lessons we've learned from our real world use cases. Although this course will cover software tools developed by Natural Capital Project, we also seek to teach about the approach agnostic to which tools or models are ultimately used by participants in their own projects.

OBJETIVO:This course will be a practical introduction to the approach and tools developed by the Natural Capital Project for implementing ecosystem services assessments and informing real-world decisions with natural capital science. The exact agenda will be tailored to attendees based on pre-course surveys, but it will cover both the approach and methods as well as technical training on specific software tools developed by the Natural Capital Project.

PERFIL DESEADO DEL PARTICIPANTE:

NGO practitioners or academics looking to implement a natural capital approach or use ES assessments in their projects/research. A technical background is not required, as technical work would be done in groups of people with various backgrounds
